Technical Engineer

Understanding customer requirements and gathering all technical information to ensure product manufacture can be realised
Understanding spline gauge and master gear design principals in accordance with national and international standards
Monitoring the progress of work through the Design Department and highlighting potential problems and backlogs.


1.Creating CAD spline gauge and master gear designs for the inspection of components

2.Creating and manipulating 3D CAD models and creating machining files

3.Documenting knowledge in the form of knowledge base technical notes and articles

4.Taking ownership of in-house and customer issues. Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting, identifying solutions and seeing them through to resolution

5.Assisting manufacturing personnel with all technical data to ensure effective manufacture of products (e.g. stage drawings, in-process and final datasheets etc.)

6.Developing preventative measures to prevent recurrence of problems

7.Assessing the impact of deviation on product quality

8.Creating and maintaining a register to capture drawing issue levels

9.Creating and maintaining a register of national and international standards to ensure we hold the latest revisions

10.Liaising with customers to ensure we understand their requirements and have all relevant information

11.Liaising with the production facility and forming a collaborative relationship to ensure jobs are issued in accordance with their requirements and needs

12.Shadowing manufacturing personnel to gain an understanding of manufacturing processes and our capabilities

13.Assisting with customer visits, presentations and exhibitions.
